Nawada, 4 July (HS). Police has solved the rape case of a 3-year-old innocent girl in a village in Nawadiganj area of Nawada district. The rapist is the uncle of the victim. The accused has been arrested by the police.
Nawada police said that Sunil Manjhi, age- 35 years, father Ram Prasad Manjhi resident of Sinkarpur, Thana-Nagar, District-Nawada presently Dalit Tola Panchana, Thana-Nardiganj, District-Nawada has been arrested. He has also accepted his crime.
According to the police, after strict interrogation of the family and the people around, it came to light that the rapist is her uncle. After which the accused was arrested. An FIR under POCSO Act has been registered in the women's police station Nawada regarding the incident.
It is noteworthy that on the night of Tuesday 2 July 24, the girl was sleeping in her home with her family members. When the family members woke up at night, she was missing from the bed. The worried family members started searching for her at night itself. When she was not found, they informed the Nardiganj police station. Police arrived and started the search on their own level. The efforts went in vain. On Wednesday morning, the girl was found unconscious on the river bank. The police and the family members admitted the girl to Sadar Hospital Nawada for medical examination and treatment. The police showed promptness and exposed the case and arrested the accused.
