Seven people, including three residents of Malad, died, three were injured

Mumbai: Seven people, including three residents of Malad, were killed when two cars collided on the Samruddhi Expressway last night. Three people were seriously injured in this horrific accident. The collision was so severe that the door had to be broken with a cutter to take out the dead and injured from the car. The police have taken cognizance of the incident and are investigating further.

Police said on Saturday that the incident took place near Kadavanchi village in Jalna at around 11 pm on Friday night. The victims were residents of Malad (East) and Buldhana in Mumbai. A multi-utility vehicle (MUV) going from Nagpur to Mumbai collided with a car coming from the opposite direction, killing six people on the spot. While another died in the hospital.

The collision was so severe that the MUV broke the crash barrier and fell on the left side of the road. On receiving information about this accident, the local rural police reached the spot to rescue the tourists. In the accident, the car fell off the road. The deceased and the injured were trapped inside the car. They were taken out by breaking the door of the car with a cutter.

Jalaun's Government Medical Officer District Hospital Dr. Umesh Jadhav said that six bodies were brought to the hospital for post-mortem. Three injured are being treated here. While a seriously injured person was shifted to the Government Medical College and Hospital in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar district. He died quickly. The three injured people are from Mumbai.

It is said that the car passengers Faisal Mansoori, Fayaz Mansoori, Althames Mansoori and Malad (East) residents Laxman Misal, Sandeep Budhwant, Vilas Pandey died on the spot.

Samruddhi Highway is a 701 km long six-lane expressway connecting Mumbai and Nagpur. The first phase of the highway connecting Nagpur to Shirdi was inaugurated in December 2022.

The number of accidents on Samriddhi Highway is increasing. Many people have lost their lives in this tragedy so far.
