Pyongyang: Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un have reached one of the most important agreements since the end of the Cold War. It is worth noting that both the countries are currently facing tension with the West. This agreement includes security, trade, investment and cultural relations as well as humanitarian activities. Putin has visited North Korea for the first time in his 24-year rule.
Thus began a new era of relations between the two countries after the disintegration of the Soviet Union in 1991. Both leaders said that their relations have reached new heights.
Ahead of the summit, the US and its allies have expressed concern that the deal would provide Moscow with much-needed supplies of ammunition it needs because of its long-running war with Ukraine. In return, Russia would provide economic aid and transfer technology to Kim Jong Un.
Putin said he was grateful for North Korea's support. They are fighting against the imperialist policies of the US and its allies against Russia. He said the Soviet army fought against the Japanese to protect Korea in World War II. Moscow has supported it since the Korean War.
Kim Jong said that this treaty is the most important treaty between the two countries so far. According to this agreement, both countries will help each other against their attackers.
He said the great friendship between Moscow and Pyongyang has become stronger than ever before in Soviet times. He said he fully supports Russia in its war with Ukraine.
North Korea is currently facing heavy sanctions from the United Nations and Russia is facing sanctions from the US and Europe. North Korea needs Russia to support it in the United Nations. It is worth noting that Russia is using veto on all the resolutions against North Korea in the United Nations and is protecting Korea from getting into more trouble.
