Ranchi, June 18 (HS). The Jharkhand High Court heard the PIL filed by Arvinder Singh Deol requesting to complete the sewerage-drainage project in Ranchi city on Tuesday. The court asked the state government when will phase two, three and four of the sewerage-drainage project in Ranchi be completed?
The court orally said that earlier the state government had cited the Model Code of Conduct being in force during the Lok Sabha elections. Now the elections are over. In such a situation, when will the state government issue tenders to complete the sewerage-drainage project? The court has sought a reply from the state government in this regard in the form of an affidavit. The next hearing of the case will be on June 24.
In the last hearing, in the light of the court's order, the NHAI project director appeared in the court. The NHAI project director told the court that the Road Transport and Highways Ministry has sent a letter to the Government of India regarding giving No Objection Certificate (NOC) to Ranchi Municipal Corporation for Phase One of the sewerage-drainage project in Ranchi. As soon as permission is received from there, the NOC will be given to Ranchi Municipal Corporation.
Ranchi Municipal Corporation's advocate LCN Shahdev had told the court that the remaining 15 percent work of Phase One will be completed soon after receiving NOC from NHAI. The state government had told regarding the construction work of Phase-Two, Phase Three and Phase Four that the scrutiny of its DPR is going on. Currently, the election code of conduct is in place for the Lok Sabha elections. Therefore, the tender process will also not be done.
