Mumbai: Kareena Kapoor and Ayushmann Khurrana are coming together for the first time in a film. Meghna Gulzar is making a film named 'Dayra' based on the 2019 Hyderabad rape case. In this, Kareena and Ayushmann will share the screen.
In 2019, the rape case of a veterinary doctor girl in Hyderabad created an uproar in the whole country. Four accused in this case were later killed in an encounter.
Meghna has done a lot of research on this real case and is currently finalizing the paperwork. After the script is finalized, the shooting of the film will begin by the end of this year. Meghna plans to release this film next year.
Meghna is known for making films based on real-time characters and stories. She made the film 'Talwar' based on the Aarushi Talwar murder case, starring Irrfan Khan and others. Apart from this, she made the film 'Chhapaak' starring Deepika based on the story of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. Last year, she made the biopic 'Sam Bahadur' of India's only Field Marshal General Sam Manekshaw.
