Hisar, June 17 (HS). The 10th International Yoga Day will be celebrated on June 21 at Haryana Agricultural University. On this occasion, a grand program will be organized at the university, in which Vice Chancellor Prof. BR Kamboj will be the chief guest.
Director of Student Welfare, Dr. Madan Khichad said on Monday that in order to create awareness about yoga among the masses, the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India will organise the practice of various mudras and pranayama exercises on the occasion of Yoga Day.
Preparations for the Yoga Day program to be held at HAU are going on in full swing. Assistant Student Welfare Director Dr. Sushil Lega said that every year Yoga Day has a special theme. This year the theme of Yoga Day is 'Yoga – for self and society'. He said that this program will start on June 21 at 5:45 am in front of the Nehru Library of the university. In the program, the general public will be encouraged to make yoga a part of their daily routine. Various committees have been formed for the successful organization of the program. He has appealed to the scientists, professors, non-teaching staff and students of the university as well as other common citizens to participate in this program in large numbers.
Yoga will be practiced as per the protocol by the University's Co-Director Student Welfare (Sports) Dr. Baljeet Girdhar and Yoga Instructor Rohtash Arya.
