Russia India News : India's foreign ministry said two Indian nationals serving in the Russian military were killed in the Ukraine war. “The Indian Embassy in Moscow has strongly taken up the matter with the Russian Ambassador in New Delhi and Russian authorities in Moscow for the early release and repatriation of all Indian nationals serving in the Russian military,” a statement said.
India's Foreign Ministry warned people
The Foreign Minister's statement further said that India has also sought to prevent further recruitment of its citizens by the Russian army. The ministry has once again urged Indian citizens to be cautious while seeking employment opportunities in Russia. In March, the Ministry of External Affairs had advised Indian citizens to be cautious and avoid taking up life-threatening jobs in Russian military units. The precautionary notice comes after the death of two Indian citizens working as support staff in the Russian army.
Claims to lure people in the name of lucrative jobs
In a weekly briefing, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal appealed to citizens not to be “misled” by offers made by agents for support jobs in the Russian army. He said it could be dangerous and life-threatening. Recently, a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigation revealed that dozens of Indians were lured in the name of lucrative jobs and sent to fight in the Russia-Ukraine war. After this, the investigating agency exposed a human trafficking network involved in sending young Indians abroad. The investigation comes a day after the death of a 30-year-old man from Hyderabad, who was allegedly a victim of a job scam during the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
