Radical right-wing parties continue marching in the European Parliament

Brussels: Voters came out in large numbers from 6 to 9 June to elect their representatives for the next five years in the European Parliament elections. Voting figures were published till Sunday evening in 20 countries out of this 27-nation union. Exit polls started coming out from Sunday evening for this election, one of the largest democratic elections in the world. According to them, right-wing parties have dominated in almost all the countries of Europe.

Poverty, unemployment, inflation, economic instability, health etc. are the major issues in this election. Apart from this, Ukraine and Gaza war were also becoming a big issue. Along with this, Islamic fundamentalism was also an important issue. In this, Netherlands Prime Minister Geert Wilders openly made anti-Islam statements. Along with this, refugees from African-Asian countries were also an important issue.

Needless to say, the extreme right wing is dominant in most countries of Europe.

Spain has 61 MPs in the 720-member European Parliament. Germany has 96 MPs. Germany and Austria, where there is a German majority, are already far-right. While the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Geert Wilders is staunchly anti-Islam.

Around the world, leftists and moderates seem to be in retreat and right-wing forces are gaining strength. Many of these are also anti-refugee.

Due to the rise of Islamic fundamentalism, governments of many European countries are now becoming radical. In this, not ghee but petrol is being poured in the Hamas-Israel war.
