Stock Market Today: After the results of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, investors seem to be getting relief from the assurance of NDA forming the government for the third consecutive time. By 10.18 am today, the Sensex managed to cross the 75000 level with a jump of 696.46 points. Nifty has also risen by more than 200 points and reached close to the level of 23000.
At 10.30 am, the Sensex was trading 726.46 points higher at 75108.40 and the Nifty was up 226.55 points at 22846.90. Of the Nifty-50 stocks, 35 were trading in favor of improvement and 15 were trading in favor of decline.
A situation where investors' losses are almost recovered
The stock market suffered a major setback when the results of the Lok Sabha elections were declared on June 4 contrary to market expectations. Intra-day, the Sensex fell by 6300 points and the Nifty also fell by more than 1700 points. More than 32 lakh crores were withdrawn from investors in a single day. However, in the last two days, almost all sectoral stocks including the Sensex and Nifty have seen a bullish trend. Today, till the time of writing the news, investor capital has increased by Rs. 8.44 lakh crores. Yesterday, Wednesday, an increase of 13 lakh crores was seen.
These stocks saw a rise
At the time of writing, out of the total 3629 stocks traded on the BSE, 2863 were trading in the green zone and 617 in the red zone. 223 stocks hit upper circuit and 148 stocks hit lower circuit. PSU stocks saw universal correction. BHEL was trading up 13.63 per cent, Mazagon Dock 12.25 per cent, Cochin Shipyard 10 per cent, IRCON 10.98 per cent. BSE Power, BSE Realty, BSE Energy, Capital Goods indices were trading with more than 4 per cent gains.
India Volatility Index fell 6 percent
The India Volatility Index was trading down 6 per cent at 17.76 today after falling to 50 per cent yesterday. Due to which the market is expected to stabilize slowly. Globally, the US dollar index and US Treasury yields have also seen a decline after the strong possibility of interest rate cut by the US Fed Reserve. Which indicates the possibility of increased foreign investment. Yesterday FIIA bought Rs. 5656.26 crore, DII bought Rs. 4555.08 lakh crore.
