The house arrest of SP candidate Lalji Verma is a rumour, police had gone to question him

Ambedkar Nagar, May 25 (HS). The police had gone to interrogate Lalji Verma, the candidate of the Indy alliance from Ambedkar Nagar Lok Sabha seat, not to put him under house arrest but to question him about the seized money last night. The SP has accused the UP police of putting him under house arrest to take political advantage, which is completely wrong. This information has been given by District Election Officer Avinash Singh.

It is noteworthy that in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections, since this morning, voters are deciding the fate of the candidates, while SP leaders spread the rumor of their candidate being put under house arrest. Regarding this, the tweets of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and the candidate created a sensation in the entire district.

It is noteworthy that last night about one lakh rupees were recovered from former block pramukh Lavkush Verma, a close SP leader of SP candidate Lalji Verma, for which Lavkush Verma was unable to give an account at that time. Police had registered a case under the code of conduct. Today in the same connection, police went to SP candidate Lalji Verma's house for questioning. There was a heated debate between the police and the candidate regarding this. SP supporters uploaded the same video on various social sites and the matter escalated and alleged house arrest. Not only this, SP candidate Lalji Verma has demanded action from the Election Commission by accusing police harassment.

What did SP allege

Samajwadi Party tweeted on Twitter, 'It is reported that on the orders of Yogi government, police reached the house of SP candidate from Ambedkar Nagar, Lalji Verma, with force and put the candidate under house arrest and Dalits, backward and minorities are being prevented from voting'. Further, the party has made serious allegations against the Election Commission and written that 'Under which rule is the police doing this and is this your impartiality? Shame on you Election Commission, shame on you, till when will you shamelessly dance to the tune of BJP?'

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has said that police was sent to raid the house of SP's winning Ambedkar Nagar candidate Lalji Verma, but the police was not supposed to find anything and they did not find anything. This is an act to tarnish the honest image of Shri Lalji Verma. This is the frustration of the losing BJP.

Voting is happening peacefully

According to the District Election Office, 41.59 percent voting has been done in Ambedkar Nagar Lok Sabha seat till 1 pm. The district administration has made better arrangements at the booths so that all the voters do not face any inconvenience.
