Ranchi, May 24 (HS). Ranchi police has made strict and strong security arrangements for the Lok Sabha elections. Voting for the Ranchi Lok Sabha elections is to be held on Saturday. Along with Cobra and Jaguar, the police's special Quick Response Team (QRT) has also been deployed in Ranchi.
DIG Anup Birathre said that thousands of soldiers have been deployed in Ranchi Lok Sabha constituency. This includes soldiers of CRPF, JAP, RAF, Cobra, Jaguar and Ranchi District Force. Booths have been divided into different categories. Ranchi has Naxal, critical and communally sensitive and normal booths. Sufficient number of paramilitary forces are present for the security of all polling booths. There are also Naxal-affected booths in some areas of Ranchi. These booths are in Khalari, McCluskieganj, Budhmu and Angada of Ranchi. One section of paramilitary force has been deployed at all such Naxal-affected booths. DIG said that Ranchi has also got a team of Cobra Battalion. Along with this, a special team of Jharkhand Jaguar has been received for operation. Along with this, zonal officers and sub-zonal officers have been appointed. Officers have been appointed at the booths. At the same time, in case of any problem at any booth, the QRT team will move immediately. For this, QRT of more than 40 bike squads has been formed. A QRT will consist of about 5-6 bikes and 10 to 12 soldiers. This QRT has been given to all police station in-charges, inspectors and DSPs.
SSP inspected the booths riding a bullet
On the other hand, SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha went out to inspect the polling booths on Friday evening on a bullet train. He inspected the polling booths located in narrow lanes for free, fair and peaceful polling. During this, the SSP inspected Islami Markaz, Marwari College, Little Garden School, Karbala Chowk and other booths.
