The United Nations said on Tuesday that it has stopped distributing food, including soup, to the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip because new supplies are not arriving. One of the main reasons for this is Israel's increasing military aggression. It also warned the UN that humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip and Rafah is on the verge of ending.
A senior US official said the biggest concern for the US is that Israel could launch a large-scale geomilitary offensive to drive Hamas out of the region, even if it says no.
It is worth noting that President Joe Biden had already asked Israel not to attack Rafah because thousands of innocent civilians are also taking refuge in that city.
A senior official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the administration had not approved Israel's attack plan. But Israel's plan seemed to indicate that it was not taking the US suggestion seriously.
Meanwhile, there are reports that 8 Palestinians have been killed in Israel's attack in the West Bank. This was said by a Palestinian health official.
Thousands, if not lakhs, of people have been fleeing Rafah for the past two weeks. They are taking shelter in new tent arrangements. This has created chaos near Rafah. Out of Rafah's population of 9 lakh, 5 lakh people are taking shelter where shelter is available. Currently, about 4 lakh people live there. Due to this chaos, it has become difficult to provide help to them.
Actually, food items were being delivered by steamers from America. But the steamers could not reach the shore. Because the water near the shore was not so deep, the steamers were attached to the big floating-pier of America and the trucks loaded with grains or food items from the steamers would land on the pier and provide relief to the hungry people. But the Guard Forsaken people (who appear to be forsaken by God) have not been able to take trucks for the last two weeks due to difficulty in overcoming their misfortune. Therefore, the situation in Rafah has become very serious. Not only in Rafah. But the situation is becoming horrific in other cities including Gaza City. Millions of people are half-starved. With whatever food is left, people in many cities or villages are surviving on a single stick. Therefore, in cities like Rafah, soup is also missing now. There children are seen standing in queue with boxes in their hands to get soup. If this soup also disappears, what will happen to those children and citizens?
