Howler monkeys are an endangered species of monkeys in Mexico but due to the current heat and prolonged drought, the condition of this monkey is very bad. It is extremely hot all over the country. The temperature in Tabasco state has crossed 45 degrees Celsius this week. Due to this, 85 howler monkeys have died so far. Apart from this, 26 people have died due to heat wave from March 17 to May 11.
The Tabasco Civil Protection Agency said that the monkey died due to dehydration. Three municipalities in Tabasco state have reported monkey deaths. Maximum number of monkeys have died in Komalkalko forests. Forest department employees are currently disposing of the dead bodies of this monkey.
Water tubs and fruits are being arranged
Along with this, the system has also made arrangements for big tubs of water and fruits to eat to save the monkeys. So that no more monkeys die. The mantled howler monkey has been included in the Red List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
President ordered strict action
Mexico's President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador is also from the state of Tabasco. He said that it is very hot right now. I am constantly visiting the state but I have never experienced such heat before. I am saddened by the death of monkeys and now no monkey will die. Therefore, all necessary arrangements have been asked to be made.

Mexico's Environment Ministry said we are also monitoring heat, drought, heatstroke, dehydration, malnutrition and the spraying of toxic chemicals on crops. So that the monkey does not die because of this. Mexico also has the Yucatan howler monkey. Due to deforestation it has also been included in the IUCN Red List.
