Jaipur, May 15 (HS). Rajasthan High Court has issued a notice to the Secretary, Deputy Secretary Director and Deputy Director of the Animal Husbandry Department and asked them to respond in the matter related to the eviction of the families living on the land of poultry farm and estate located on Agra Road. In this case, the parties have been instructed to maintain status quo on the poultry farm land. Justice Anup Kumar Dhand gave this order on the petition of Poultry Estate Welfare Society.
Advocate Vikas Somani of the petitioner society said that this matter was pending in the High Court for a long time. Earlier also the court had given instructions to maintain status quo on the poultry farm land. At the same time, the High Court had disposed of the petition of the applicant society on 29 November 2023 and directed it to submit a detailed report before the state government. The Animal Husbandry Department was also asked to finalize its report by giving adequate opportunity of hearing to the applicant society, but the department finalized its report only superficially. In such a situation, there is a possibility of eviction and other action against the applicant society and allottees. Therefore, no action should be taken against them regarding the poultry farm land.
It is noteworthy that the Animal Husbandry Department of the State Government had allotted poultry farms to the applicants 46 years ago and they have been living here since then. At the time of allotment, the department had taken an undertaking from the allottees that the allottees should not own any residential land in Jaipur city nor will they take it in future. Now the department is intent on making 153 families of the allottees homeless and selling the poultry farm land. In such a situation, the land should be regulated in favor of the applicants and they should not be evicted from here.
