Rs 25 lakh in Indian fury

About 80 percent of Indian students come here to study medicine, engineering or law. After studies, they earn a skilled worker's wage during their extended stay. British Home Secretary James Cleverley says that it has been seen that students are using these visas to gain immigration.
Britain will suffer a loss of Rs 2 lakh crore

This will affect the economy. Chancellor of St. Andrews University Sally Mapston says Indian students contribute to medical and engineering jobs. The number of Indian students going to Britain in 2021 was 87045, which increased to 139700 in 2022. When 13 thousand students came to study in Britain in the year 2023.
What is graduate route visa?
An international student who has completed undergraduate and postgraduate studies from the UK under the Graduate Route Visa can apply to seek work and residence in the country. This international student can apply to stay in the UK for up to two years. Whereas a PhD student can apply for up to three years. The Graduate Route Visa was introduced in July 2021 by then Home Minister Priti Patel. Of the 1,76,000 graduate route visas issued to international students, 42 per cent are Indian citizens.
