Upanal workers boycotted work indefinitely, staged a protest in the Collectorate premises

Champawat, February 14 (HS) Under the banner of Upanal Employees United Front, employees of various departments have started indefinite work boycott and protest for seven-point demands. He said that the government is continuously ignoring their demands. The employees said that the order given by the Nainital High Court in the year 2018 should be implemented by withdrawing the SLP filed in the Supreme Court. Warned that the work boycott will continue until the demands are met.

Under the banner of Upnal Employees United Front, employees of many departments gathered in the DM office premises and raised slogans. Speakers said that for a long time only empty assurances were being given regarding their various demands. It is becoming difficult to maintain the family with low salary. He said that the demands have been raised for a long time but the government is not taking any effective action. Even they are not being paid salaries on time. He said that if his demands are not accepted then he will be forced to carry out violent agitation. Sandeep Kalkhudia, Manoj Bisht, Shankar Joshi, Narendra Kholia, Rajendra Singh Mehar, Deepak Singh Khati, Madan Singh Mehar etc. were included in the protest.

These are the main demands-

-There should be a 20 percent increase in the salary of subnal employees every year.

-Jobs should be given to the dependents of the deceased, posts should be created for employees who have completed five years.

-Laboratory assistants working in secondary education should be kept in the skilled category like those in higher education.

-The postponed dearness allowance should be restored in the Energy Corporation and implemented in all the departments of the state.
