Mumbai: Hundreds of water identity cards (IDs) were found in a pile of garbage on the road in Maharashtra's Jalna city on Friday. A news agency has shared a video showing a large number of water IDs in a garbage heap. Voting for Jal Lok Sabha seat will be held on May 13.
In this case, orders for investigation have been given on the basis of details including photo, name, address found in the Voter ID cadre. Jalna Collector and District Election Officer said that the voter identity cards were old and had been thrown away by some unknown person. After getting information about the voter ID card, the Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) of Jalna confiscated the voter ID card. The Collector said that an investigation is being conducted to find out whether the voters whose voter ID cards were thrown in the garbage heap got new voter ID cards or not. He further said whether anyone has deliberately excluded the cadre? Where did they get the cadre from? Investigation is going on in this regard. This person will be traced and appropriate action will be taken against him.
Voting will be held on Tuesday, May 13 in Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Raver, Jalna, Aurangabad, Maval, Pune, Shirur, Ahmednagar, Shirdi and Beed in Maharashtra.
