Had gone to save friend and lost his life…: Two brothers arrested in the case of murder of Indian student in Australia

Navjeet Sandhu Murder Case: An Indian student has been stabbed to death in Melbourne, Australia. Now two brothers from Karnal have been arrested in New South Wales, Australia in this case. According to the information received, the killed Indian student is a resident of Karnal. The student was studying M.Tech in Melbourne. Abhijeet (26) and Robin Garton (27) were arrested following a search in Melbourne on Tuesday morning.

The cause of death was interference in a rent dispute

Sandhu, a native of Gagseen village in Karnal, was murdered with a knife in the chest on Sunday night. Sandhu's relative Yashvir said that Sandhu tried to intervene in a rent dispute between some Indian students, leading to another student attacking him with a knife. In this way the young man lost his life while trying to save his friend.

Yashvir said that another Indian friend of Navjeet asked him to come to his house to collect his belongings because Navjeet had a car. When his friend went inside, Navjeet heard shouting and saw a scuffle taking place. When Navjeet tried to intervene by asking him not to fight, he stabbed him in the chest. He told that like Navjeet, the accused is also a resident of Karnal.

Father sold his land and sent his son to study in Australia

Yashveer told that the family came to know about the incident on Sunday morning. He told that Navjeet's friend who was with him was also injured. The family is in shock. He said Navjeet was a bright student and was scheduled to visit his family for holidays in July. Navjeet had gone to Australia one and a half years ago on a study visa and his farmer father had sold one and a half acre of land for his son's education. The family said, we request the Government of India to help us in bringing back the body as soon as possible.
