Jharkhand Minister Alamgir Alam: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at several places in Jharkhand on Monday (06 May). The ED has said it has recovered a huge amount of unaccounted cash during searches at premises allegedly linked to Sanjeev Lal, private secretary (PA) to Jharkhand Rural Development Minister Alamgir Alam.
ED has recovered cash worth about Rs 30 crore from the house of PA Sanjeev Lal's servant in Alamgir Alam. The monthly salary of the servant from whose house this cash was found is only Rs 15 thousand.

Alamgir Alam is the Rural Development Minister in the Champai Soren government of Jharkhand. Alamgir Alam is a Congress leader. Alamgir Alam has been a four-time MLA from Pakur constituency in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly as a member of the Congress. Alamgir Alam has won from Pakur seat in 2000, 2004, 2014 and 2019 elections. He lost in the 2009 elections.
Alamgir Alam was also the Speaker of the Jharkhand Assembly between 20 October 2006 and 12 December 2009. In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Alamgir Alam retained his seat by defeating Akil Akhtar, who had previously held the seat after the 2009 elections.
After the elections, Alam was elected leader of the Congress Legislature Party in the alliance of Congress, JMM and RJD. On 29 December 2019, Alamgir Alam was among the first four members to take oath in the state cabinet along with Hemant Soren, Rameshwar Oran and Satyanand Bhokta.
