India has been placed in Group A along with defending champions Australia, New Zealand and Pakistan in the Women's T20 World Cup to be hosted by Bangladesh from October 3 to 20 this year. All India's group matches will be played in Sylhet. As per the schedule of the 9th Women's T20 World Cup announced by the ICC, India will start their campaign against New Zealand on October 4. Then they will face Pakistan on 6th October. India has to play the third match against the first qualifier on October 9 but the team has not been decided. India will play its last match in the league stage on October 13 against six-time world champions Australia.
The ICC said each team in the World Cup will play four group matches and the top two teams will play semi-finals on October 17 and 18 before the final in Dhaka on October 20. A total of 23 matches will be played in 19 days in Dhaka and Sylhet. Reserve days have been kept for semi-finals and finals. Hosts Bangladesh have been placed in Group B along with South Africa, England, West Indies and one other qualifier. Ireland, UAE, Sri Lanka and Scotland are in the race for a place in the main draw.
