Mumbai: On the application of social media influencer Sapna Gill, the Sessions Court has issued summons to cricketer Prithvi Shaw. Sapna had challenged the magistrate's order regarding her complaint against the cricketer.
Andheri Metropolitan Court had earlier ordered a police investigation on Gill's petition. Gill sought permission to file an FIR against the show and alleged that she was molested in a pub.
Gill's second plea, seeking action against the police for not registering a case based on the complaint against Shaw and his friend, was dismissed. Dissatisfied with both the orders, Sapnagil filed a review petition in the sessions court. Gill claimed in the review petition that the order passed by the magistrate on April 3 was illegal and defective.
The judge called the show on Tuesday. The court also issued summons to the airport police, which had not registered a case on Gill's complaint. The next hearing is to be held on June 6.
In February 2023, Sapna Gill and others were attacked in connection with the attack on the show following an argument over selfies in an old hotel. Gill is currently on bail. After getting bail, Gill lodged a complaint of molestation with the airport police against Shaw, his friend Ashish Yadav and others.
When the police did not respond, he filed an application in the Magistrate Court. Gill accused Shaw and his friends of beating him with a bat.
