Pakistan: ISI officers raided the house and looted it, Supreme Court ordered investigation against the then chief

Faiz Hameed faced interrogation by Pakistan Army: Pakistan's notorious spy agency ISI, which has been promoting terrorism in India for years, does not spare its own citizens.

A Pakistani citizen has accused the ISI of breaking into his house and looting it. The result was that following the order given by the court, the Pakistani Army has started investigation against the then ISI chief General Faiz Hamid.

Faiz Hamid will be investigated by a committee headed by a Major General. Instead of retiring in 2022, General Hameed had resigned from the post of ISI director a few months ago.

General Hamid's name had cropped up in many controversies including the Faizabad strike. Nawaz Sharif, who has been Prime Minister of Pakistan three times, told the Supreme Court that former Army Chief General Bajwa and ISI Chief General Hamid played a big role in removing him from power.

However, the reason for General Hamid's trouble is the petition filed in the Supreme Court by Moiz Ahmed Khan, owner of a housing society in Pakistan. He told the Supreme Court that on May 12, 2017, on the instructions of General Hamid, ISI officers had illegally raided my house and office. The officials looted valuables, gold, cash and diamonds from the house. General Hameed's brother contacted me to resolve the matter. Later General Hameed personally met me and assured me that some of the items seized during the raid would be returned, but 400 tola gold and cash would not be returned.'

Moiz Khan further told the court that ISI officials had also collected Rs 4 crore from him.

The Supreme Court of Pakistan heard this application. A bench of three judges including the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court said that this is a serious matter. The allegations of the petitioner can also tarnish the image of ISI and hence these allegations cannot be ignored.

After the Supreme Court's comments, the Army has ordered an investigation against General Hamid. Since such high-profile investigations against top military officials are rare in Pakistan, the incident has created a stir in the country.
