Jaipur, 12 April (HS). Rajasthan High Court has banned the release of the final selection list in the case of not giving the benefit of reservation in the prescribed ratio to ST category in Stenographer and Personal Assistant Recruitment-2024. Along with this, the court has issued a notice to the Administrative Reforms Department and the Staff Selection Board and sought their reply in the matter. The court said that the selection process of recruitment can be continued, but the final selection list should not be released. A single bench of Justice Ganesh Ram Meena gave this order while conducting preliminary hearing on the petition filed by Kiran Dhyavana and others.
In the petition, advocate Tanveer Ahmed told the court that on February 26, the Staff Selection Board conducted recruitment for 193 posts of stenographer and 257 posts of personal assistant. Under the provisions of reservation rules, 23 posts of stenographer and 31 posts of personal assistant were to be reserved for ST category. Despite this, only 19 posts of stenographer and three posts of personal assistant were kept reserved for ST category. The petitioners are eligible for appointment, but due to non-reservation of posts in prescribed proportion for ST category, they were deprived of appointment. Therefore, these posts should be reserved in fixed proportion. Hearing which, the single bench has put a stay on the release of the final selection list and has sought answers from the concerned officials.
