An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), who was leading the police team during night patrolling and patrolling duty in Darbhanga, was shot at close range by fearless criminals. After being shot, the ASI, in a bleeding condition, was immediately admitted to Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) with the help of local police and fellow personnel, where his condition remains critical and a special team of doctors is engaged in his treatment. This entire incident took place in a sensitive area under Darbhanga district, where the ASI along with his team was deployed on regular patrol. Seeing suspicious activities at night, when the ASI came forward and signaled some suspicious youths riding a motorcycle to stop, the criminals, seeing themselves surrounded, suddenly opened fire directly at the police team with the illegal weapon they had. The bullet directly hit the ASI and he fell on the spot. Immediately after carrying out the incident, the attackers took advantage of the darkness and fled on their speeding bike. Fellow soldiers immediately took the injured officer to DMCH. Considering the condition of ASI, he is being treated by specialist doctors in the emergency ward of the hospital, where the entire administrative staff is also keeping an eye on the situation.
