A very important meeting of the national general secretaries of the party was organized under the chairmanship of National President Nitin Naveen at the central office of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Delhi. In this high-level meeting, a detailed discussion has been initiated on the organizational preparations and strategic framework for the upcoming assembly elections to be held in 2027—especially in Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Manipur. Along with this, serious brainstorming is being done on the action plan to give a befitting political and constitutional reply to the allegations of ‘vote theft’ being made by the opposition parties (‘India’ block) and their nationwide protests regarding Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and voter list revision.
The 2027 state elections top the agenda of the meeting. The party leadership has sought a detailed report from all the national general secretaries on the current political situation, organizational structure and coordination among the workers in the states under their charge. The main focus of BJP is on retaining its power in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur, while new equations are being created to further strengthen its political presence in states like Punjab. Through meetings, instructions have been given to reorganize the booth level, strengthen the power centers and improve communication between local MLAs and workers.
BJP has prepared its counter-strategy to counter the storm being created by the opposition over the Special Intensive Revision of Voter List (SIR) and the proposed rallies on November 1. The “Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy” awareness campaign being run by the party was reviewed in the meeting. Under this campaign, large scale marches are being organized at the district headquarters and dialogue programs with more than 200 enlightened citizens and thinkers are being organized in each assembly constituency. Party workers have been entrusted with the responsibility to go out among the public and make it clear that the SIR process is a constitutional step for purification and transparency of the voter list.
In the BJP organization, the National General Secretary works as an important link in implementing the instructions of the central leadership on the ground and conveying the actual feedback received from the states to the President. Through this meeting, the party president has given clear instructions that all the general secretaries should speed up their area-wise visits in the coming months and prepare a new report of booth mapping. The agenda of the proposed state visits of Home Minister Amit Shah and the National President and meetings of the State Working Committee in the coming days is also being finalized in this meeting.
