New rates of LPG cylinder released before Diwali: Know the latest prices of domestic and commercial gas from Delhi to Patna.

In this festive season, when the aroma of dishes and sweets is spreading in the houses, the eyes of the common man are most focused on the prices of LPG. On October 27, just before Diwali and Chhath festival, the country’s major government oil marketing companies (IOCL, BPCL, HPCL) have updated the official rates of LPG cylinders. The biggest relief news for common consumers and housewives in this busy festival season is that there has been no increase in the price of domestic LPG (14.2 kg). The prices of domestic gas cylinders have remained stable since the month of June. However, the impact of the increase in the beginning of the month on 19 kg blue commercial gas cylinders used by restaurants, hotels, sweet shops and confectioners is still continuing. In such a situation, there is cost pressure on the festive food business, but the kitchen budget of the house has narrowly escaped from getting spoiled.

There is a difference in the prices of domestic LPG in different states and cities of the country due to local VAT, transportation costs and regional taxes. On October 27, the prices of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder in major cities of the country are stable as follows:

On the occasion of Diwali, there is huge demand for sweets in the markets and at this time the consumption of commercial cylinders increases the most. In the first fortnight of October, companies had made a huge increase in the prices of 19 kg commercial cylinders ranging from ₹ 62.50 to ₹ 71.50 per cylinder, which is still in force.

  • Commercial Cylinder in Delhi: 19 kg blue commercial cylinder in the national capital Delhi ₹2,810.00 Is available.

There has been a direct increase in the production cost of restaurants, confectioners and street vendors due to the commercial cylinder rising from ₹ 2,800 to ₹ 3,100, due to which its impact is clearly being felt in the markets on the prices of sweets and namkeens during the festival.

India imports more than 60% of its LPG fuel requirement from Saudi Arabia and Middle East countries. Retail prices of LPG depend on the international benchmark Brent Crude Oil, Saudi Aramco’s contract price (CP) and the exchange rate of the Indian rupee against the US dollar. International crude oil prices have seen limited softening in recent weeks despite global geopolitical tensions and supply concerns. Due to this softness, oil companies have not imposed any additional burden on domestic consumers during the festive season and have kept domestic cylinder prices completely stable.

During the festive season, the subsidy benefits of crores of poor and rural beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana are being transferred directly into their bank accounts. The government is providing direct financial subsidy of up to ₹300 on prescribed cylinders per year under the Ujjwala scheme. After this subsidy, Ujjwala beneficiaries are getting the gas cylinder at an effective cost of around ₹ 642 in Delhi and around ₹ 731 in Patna. The Oil Ministry has also clarified that customers who have completed Aadhaar based biometric authentication (e-KYC) of their gas connections are getting the benefit of subsidy without any interruption. To ensure that there is no shortage of cylinders during the festival season in urban and rural areas, the delivery system has been put on alert mode and the prescribed refill interval of 25 days of booking is in place.
