Tomorrow’s weather, October 21: Alert of torrential rain in 18 states within 14 hours

The weather patterns of the country have once again changed very rapidly. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has released a very important and big weather update for October 21. According to the latest bulletin of the Meteorological Department, there has been a warning of torrential rain, lightning and strong winds with a storm speed of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour in about 18 states of the country within the next 14 hours.

There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in the states of South India due to the effect of monsoon winds and cyclonic circulation formed in the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea. IMD has appealed to people to remain alert and stay in safe places during severe thunderstorms.

According to the IMD report, the maximum impact of rain will be seen in most parts of South India on October 21. Very heavy rain alert has been issued at many places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, where yellow alert will remain in effect in 17 districts. Apart from this, there is a strong possibility of lightning along with torrential rain in coastal and south interior parts of Kerala, Mahe, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema and Karnataka.

Strong storm winds can blow at a speed of 50 to 60 km per hour in these coastal and plain areas, due to which fishermen living in the coastal areas have been warned not to go into the sea.

Rain activities may remain limited in the states of North India and Central India, but the feeling of coolness in the weather has started increasing rapidly. Pink cold in the morning and evening has strengthened its knock in Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

There is a possibility of light to moderate scattered showers and cold winds blowing at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour in some areas of Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Odisha. Due to snowfall in the upper reaches of the hill states of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir, a huge drop in the minimum temperature is being recorded in the plains.

There has been a warning of light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in parts of coastal Maharashtra, Konkan, Goa and Marathwada in western India. At the same time, rain with strong winds is expected at some places in the states of North-East India like Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland.

Due to low pressure conditions in the Bay of Bengal, heavy rains are going to continue in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Due to this sudden change in weather, there is a possibility of impact on traffic system, rail services and flights.

Keeping in mind this unexpected change in weather and stormy winds, IMD has instructed the district administrations of many states to remain alert. Farmers have been advised to store the harvested crops in safe places instead of leaving them in the open so that the grains do not get spoiled due to torrential rains.

In case of lightning, an appeal has been made not to take shelter in open fields, water bodies and under big trees. It is expected that this weather pattern will remain like this for the next 24 to 48 hours.
