Important information has come to light for the candidates who are dreaming of taking admission in medical and dental courses. Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) has released the provisional seat allotment result of online stray vacancy round of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) counseling 2026 on its official website. Candidates who had filled the options for 15 percent All India Quota (AIQ), vacant MBBS, BDS and B.Sc Nursing seats of Deemed and Central Universities, AIIMS and JIPMER can check their provisional allotment by visiting the portal.
To keep the counseling process completely transparent and error free, MCC has invited objections from the candidates. According to the official notification released, if any candidate finds any technical discrepancy or error in their provisional result, category, quota or allotted institute, then they can register their complaint through the official e-mail ID till 11:00 am today. Any email or request after the expiry of the stipulated time limit will not be considered, hence candidates are strictly advised to match their details in time.
As per the guidelines issued by MCC, the provisional allotment list is for preliminary information only and candidates cannot directly claim a seat on the basis of it. If any candidate finds any discrepancy in the result as per rank or choice, they can send their complaint on the official email ID of MCC. While sending the complaint, it is mandatory to clearly write your NEET UG Roll Number, Application Number and All India Rank in the subject line of the email.
Candidates must attach necessary documents in support of their objection, such as scorecard, choice locking confirmation slip and other relevant evidence. The MCC technical team will thoroughly review all valid objections received by 11 am. The final seat allotment result will be prepared only after disposal of objections and necessary corrections. The committee has made it clear that there will be no scope for any changes after the release of the final results.
After examining the objections received by the stipulated time limit i.e. 11 am, the final seat allotment result and official allotment letter will be released by MCC today itself. After the release of the final result, selected students will be able to download the provisional allotment letter on the portal using their login credentials i.e. roll number and password. This allotment letter will be the most important document to be presented at the time of college reporting.
Experts say that Stray Vacancy round is the last stage of counselling. It is considered mandatory for the candidate to accept the seat allotted in this round, as there is no option of ‘free exit’ or upgradation available. If a candidate gives up the seat he got in this round, his security deposit can be confiscated as per the rules and he can also be banned from appearing in the NEET exam or counseling of the upcoming session.
As soon as the final result is declared, the selected candidates will have to start the process of physically reporting to the allotted medical or dental colleges. As per the revised schedule of MCC, candidates will have to reach their respective institute within the stipulated time and complete the formalities of document verification and fee payment. The allotment of candidates reporting after the last date will be automatically considered cancelled.
Physical verification of the original documents of the candidates and medical fitness will be confirmed by the college administration. It is mandatory for all institutions to upload the admission data of students online on the intra-MCC portal of MCC within the stipulated time frame for formal confirmation of seats. Candidates are advised to check their reporting time, hostel and accepted means of tuition fee payment from the official website of the concerned college before starting the journey.
At the time of physical verification in the college, candidates will have to appear with all their original certificates along with at least two self-attested photocopies and passport size photograph. Key documents include NEET UG 2026 admit card, rank card/scorecard, final allotment letter issued by MCC, 10th marksheet and birth certificate, 12th marksheet and pass certificate, and valid photo identity card issued by the government (like Aadhaar card, PAN card or passport).
Further if the candidate belongs to any reserved category, he/she must produce valid OBC-NCL, EWS, SC, ST or Disability (PwD) certificate issued by the competent authority. It is also important to carry character certificate, transfer certificate (TC), migration certificate issued by the school or college and gap affidavit, if applicable. If any deficiency is found in any document, the institute has the right to cancel the admission.
The process of checking the result has been kept extremely simple for the convenience of the candidates:
