Marriage does not work only on love: If you do not follow these 3 rules of Chanakya Niti, the relationship will disintegrate.

Acharya Chanakya, the greatest pioneer of Indian thought tradition and practical life philosophy, had revealed the subtle secrets of human nature, society and family system centuries ago. In his immortal work ‘Chanakya Niti’, not only the formulas of diplomacy, economics and governance are recorded, but the practical principles of keeping family life happy, strong and balanced are also explained in detail. In modern society it is often assumed that marriage can last a lifetime only on the strength of emotional attraction or initial love, but Chanakya considers this notion to be completely incomplete. According to Acharya Chanakya, marriage is such a sacred contract between two souls that it cannot survive for long without knowledge, intellectual balance and mutual harmony. In today’s fast-paced world, where marriages reach the brink of breaking over small issues, the three basic rules of Chanakya Niti become extremely relevant, in the absence of which marital relationships disintegrate.

Acharya Chanakya clearly believed that any marital union can become lasting only when the romantic love between husband and wife transforms into a strong, mature and transparent friendship with time. Chanakya, who deeply studied human nature, underlined that mere physical attraction or love in words cannot last long without mutual trust and open communication. When husband and wife treat each other like close friends in a marital relationship, then the fear of hiding anything between them ends. In such a relationship, both laugh together openly, share the joys and sorrows of life and stand as each other’s biggest shield in times of crisis. Chanakya Niti says that couples who treat each other as friends develop natural patience, mutual respect and mental stability. This friendship acts as an impenetrable protective shield to protect the relationship from ego, unnecessary fear and external misunderstandings, due to which small everyday differences never turn into major disputes.

According to Chanakya Niti, the main cornerstone of any strong and successful married life is mutual respect. Acharya Chanakya warns that when a feeling of disrespect, bitterness or neglect arises between husband and wife, it makes the relationship hollow from within like termites. Many times people get angry and insult their spouse in private or in public in front of four people. According to Chanakya, such an insult leaves a deep wound in the heart which becomes more painful instead of diminishing with the passage of time. Chanakya’s unwavering principle is that true love flourishes only where there is full respect for each other’s self-respect, thoughts and human dignity. Use of respectful language, politeness in behavior and listening carefully to your partner without interrupting are the means by which unbreakable trust is built in the relationship. Modern psychological research also confirms that in marriages where the level of respect is high, those relationships remain completely calm, stable and secure for decades.

The third and most essential rule of Chanakya Niti is complete integrity and transparency. Acharya Chanakya has warned that lies, deceit and deception are like slow poison to a relationship which gradually destroys the entire marriage. Small dishonesty with your spouse or hiding financial and personal matters germinates the seeds of mistrust, fear and doubt in the mind, which later on creates huge emotional distance. Chanakya believes that in a relationship where there is no light of truth, love can never feel safe and secure. Trust is the foundational rock upon which the palace of marriage stands, and honesty constantly guards that rock. Whenever there are financial crises, family conflicts or difficult times in life, any marriage can survive only when both the partners trust each other’s truth and feel completely emotionally secure in the relationship.
