New Delhi. An important update has come out regarding the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), the central government’s most ambitious direct income support scheme for crores of farmers in the country. A reward amount of ₹ 2,000 can soon be transferred to the bank accounts of farmers waiting for the next i.e. 24th installment of financial assistance to be received under the scheme. On June 20, an amount of more than ₹ 18,880 crore was sent to the accounts of more than 9.44 crore eligible farmers through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) as the 23rd installment by the Prime Minister from West Bengal. Now as per the prescribed four-month payment cycle (August–November period), the 24th installment is likely to be released in the month of October.
This financial assistance, which will be provided just before the festive season i.e. Navratri, Dussehra and sowing of upcoming Rabi crops, will prove to be very useful for the farmers. This provides direct support to small and marginal farmers in procuring essential agricultural inputs like improved seeds, DAP-urea fertilizers, irrigation and tillage for the Rabi season. The final announcement of the official date by the government is expected soon, but the Agriculture Ministry has made it clear that the money of those farmers whose technical formalities are incomplete may get stuck.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, financial assistance of ₹6,000 per year is given to eligible farmer families in three equal installments (₹2,000 each) at an interval of every four months.

Continuous budgetary provisions are being made by the Union Cabinet for the expansion and transparency of this scheme. Since the launch of the scheme, direct financial assistance worth more than ₹ 4.47 lakh crore has been provided to more than 11 crore farmer families.
As per the guidelines of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, verification at three levels has been made mandatory to weed out ineligibles and ensure transparent payments. If even one of these details remains incomplete, payment of the 24th installment will be stopped:

Completion of Aadhaar-based e-KYC: E-KYC is mandatory for all registered farmers. Farmers can do e-KYC themselves through Aadhaar OTP by visiting PM-Kisan portal (pmkisan.gov.in). Apart from this, this process can also be completed through biometrics at the nearest CSC center or face-authentication on PM-KISAN mobile app.

Land Records Verification (Land Seeding): The record of agricultural land in the name of the farmer should be verified on the portal. If ‘Land Seeding – NO’ is visible in the status, then you will have to immediately contact your regional accountant or agriculture officer and get the Khatauni updated.

Linking Aadhaar and NPCI with bank account (Aadhaar Seeding / NPCI): The money will be credited only to that bank account which is linked to Aadhaar and is DBT activated. If the account is inactive or not updated on NPCI Mapper, the safest option is to immediately open a new DBT-enabled account at the bank branch or nearest post office (IPPB).

Step 2: Under ‘Farmers Corner’ section on the homepage ‘Know Your Status’ Click on Options.

Step 3: Enter your registration number and the captcha code given on the screen, then click on ‘Get OTP’.

Step 4: Once you verify the OTP, you will see personal details, history of previous installments, e-KYC status and land seeding status.

Step 5: If you want to see the list of the entire village, then you can go to the ‘Beneficiary List’ option and select your state, district, sub-district, block and village and get the report.
If ‘YES’ is written in the status against all the three main eligibility points (e-KYC, Land Seeding and Aadhaar Bank Account Status), then farmers should be absolutely rest assured; The 24th installment of ₹2,000 will be directly credited to their bank account as soon as the government presses the button.
