Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has openly taken the lead amid the ongoing debates on social media and public forums regarding the purity of Patanjali’s cow’s desi ghee and Ayurvedic medicines. In a detailed press conference held in Haridwar, Baba Ramdev bluntly said that neither Patanjali’s cow ghee is fake nor any medicine of Patanjali is fake. He alleged that for the last few months, a big multinational syndicate has been active in defaming the Swadeshi campaign, Ayurveda and Indian Sanatan Chikitsa system.
Yogguru said that 99 percent of the people in the country are engaged in spreading rumors only by hearsay and by making misleading videos on social media without any scientific investigation. He clarified that there is nothing fake in the life of Swami Ramdev and no ban has been imposed on any product of Patanjali by any statutory body till date.
On the question repeatedly raised by critics that when milk is being sold at ₹60-70 per litre, how is Patanjali providing pure cow ghee at around ₹700 per litre, Baba Ramdev laid out the entire dairy economics model behind it:

80% cost recovery from by-products: Baba Ramdev told that Patanjali collects milk from crores of cows. When cream (fat) is removed from milk, the remaining toned/low-fat milk is sold directly as liquid milk or is used to prepare skimmed milk powder (SMP), cheese, curd and buttermilk.

5 main products of milk: According to the rules of dairy industry, 5 types of by-products are prepared from milk, which already covers about 80 percent of the cost of the original milk.

Zero adulteration guarantee: He challenged and said that any person should buy Patanjali ghee from the market and get it tested in any NABL accredited lab in the country and abroad. Neither any refined palm oil nor any kind of animal fat is found in Patanjali’s ghee.

Coca-Cola, Nestle and other foreign companies never campaign on processed foods, but as soon as any indigenous organization stands on the strength of Indian farmers and shepherds, the entire lobby is behind it.

Baba Ramdev termed the claims on social media about his health and allegedly going abroad to undergo modern surgery as ridiculous.

When asked about the recent comments made by former BJP MP and former wrestling federation president Brijbhushan Sharan Singh on Patanjali’s products and quality, Baba Ramdev tried to pacify the entire issue:
