Based on the prices of crude oil in the international market, India’s government oil marketing companies (IOCL, BPCL, HPCL) have released new retail prices of petrol and diesel for today, September 12 (Saturday). No major change has been seen in fuel prices in major cities of Uttar Pradesh today and prices have remained stable in most of the districts.
From the capital Lucknow to Noida adjacent to Delhi and the industrial city Kanpur, a slight difference in rates has been recorded due to local VAT and freight charges. Every day at 6:00 am, new prices are reviewed and updated by oil companies.
On Saturday, the prices per liter of petrol and diesel in major metros of Uttar Pradesh were recorded as follows:

The prices of petrol and diesel are not the same in every city even within the same state:

State Level VAT: State governments charge uniform VAT rates across the state, but local body rules may add additional taxes in some cities.

Freight Charges: The greater the distance of a petrol pump from the oil refinery or main depot, the greater will be the transportation cost. This is why fuel is slightly cheaper in cities near the depot (like Mathura or Agra) and slightly more expensive in remote districts.

Dealer Commission: Petrol pump dealers’ commission is also included in the final retail price.
