Tomorrow’s weather: Monsoon becomes active again in Eastern India including UP-Bihar, alert of heavy rain and storm in these states on August 29; IMD’s warning issued tomorrow’s weather 29 August

Due to the monsoon trough and the cyclonic circulation formed in the Bay of Bengal, a new and intense phase of rain has started in the eastern and central parts of the country. According to the latest bulletin of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), tomorrow i.e. on August 29, heavy to very heavy rain is expected in many states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal. Along with this, there has been a warning of lightning strike along with thunder and strong winds at a speed of 40 to 60 km per hour.

Due to the weather system formed in the south-eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh, the intensity of rain will be highest in Eastern UP and Terai districts.

• Affected districts: Gorakhpur, Deoria, Maharajganj, Ballia, Ghazipur, Mau, Jaunpur, Varanasi, Chandauli, Sonbhadra and Gonda may experience moderate to heavy rains along with thunderstorms.

• Western UP: There are chances of light to moderate rain and strong winds around Meerut, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida), Aligarh, Mathura, Agra and Kanpur.

• temperature: The maximum temperature in Lucknow is expected to be around 32°C and the minimum temperature is expected to be around 27°C.

Monsoon will be widely active in Bihar on August 29. The Meteorological Department has given special advice to farmers and common citizens not to go to fields and open fields.

• Alert areas: An alert of heavy rain with strong thunder has been issued in Patna, Gaya, Jehanabad, Siwan, Saran, Buxar, Bhojpur, Rohtas, Vaishali, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Purnia, Katihar, Kishanganj, Bhagalpur and Munger.

• Condition of Patna: The capital Patna will remain cloudy throughout the day and the temperature will drop due to several rounds of rain.

Widespread impact of low pressure will be seen in the coastal and plateau areas of Eastern India:

• Odisha: There is an orange alert of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places in many coastal and interior districts of the state. In view of the high waves in the sea, fishermen have been instructed not to go into deep water.

• Jharkhand: Gale with speed of 40 to 45 km/hr and intermittent heavy rainfall is likely in Ranchi, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Jamshedpur, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Deoghar and Singhbhum districts.

• West Bengal: Heavy rains along with thunderstorms are expected in Kolkata, Howrah, Malda, Bankura, Murshidabad and Jalpaiguri.

• Central India: Widespread monsoon rains are forecast over East Madhya Pradesh (Jabalpur, Chhindwara, Seoni, Balaghat, Umaria) and Chhattisgarh. There may be heavy rain in Vidarbha region also.

• Hill State: There is an alert of landslides and heavy rain in Dehradun, Nainital, Haridwar, Rishikesh and Bageshwar of Uttarakhand. There is a possibility of rain with strong winds in some parts of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

• Northeast India: Heavy rain will continue over Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura for the next 24 to 48 hours.

The sky will be densely cloudy in the national capital Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad and Ghaziabad on August 29. There may be light to moderate rain and winds at a speed of 40 to 50 km/hour during the day, due to which the temperature will remain between 34 to 36 degrees Celsius and there will be some relief from humidity.

1. Do not take shelter under trees, electric poles or metal structures during heavy rain and lightning.

2. Avoid going on waterlogged roads, underpasses and river banks.

3. Avoid unnecessary travel in hilly areas, as rain may cause boulder falls and landslides.

4. Farmers should make proper arrangements for drainage in the fields so that there is no excessive waterlogging in the crops.
