Meta has made a big announcement to take the Indian startup ecosystem to new heights and strengthen early stage consumer brands. The social media giant has launched a special initiative called ‘Meta Startup School’ in India. 200 early-stage consumer and D2C (direct-to-consumer) startups from across the country will be selected for the first cohort (batch) of this three-month mentorship program. These startups will not only be taught strategies to scale business on digital platforms, but will also be provided a direct platform to connect with top Venture Capitalists (VCs) and obtain funding.

Why is this initiative important for early stage startups?

The number of startups acquiring customers through digital medium is increasing rapidly in India. However, it is a big challenge for any new brand to survive for a long time and achieve sustainable growth after getting initial traction. Sometimes just having capital is not enough, but proper use of digital platforms, right advertising strategy and adoption of modern technology become the key to success. Meta’s Startup School is designed to fill this gap, so that early-stage companies can compete with big brands.

What benefits will startups get in the 3-month program?

200 startups joining this program will be given multi-level support:

  • 3 Months Free Agency Consultation: Selected startups will be paired with META’s expert agency partners. Without any retainer fees, these agencies will help startups in making their growth strategies and marketing campaigns effective.

  • Access to AI-powered advertising tools: Exclusive training will be provided in the use of Meta’s advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advertising tools, so that startups can achieve more customer acquisition at lower costs.

  • Funding Opportunity on Demo Day: A grand demo day will be organized at the end of the 3-month program, where startups will be able to pitch their business models to industry leaders and VC firms and garner funding.

When is Meta Startup School starting?

Official launch of the first cohort of Meta Startup School 1 September 2026 Is happening from. This program will be operated for three months from September to November 2026. During this period, practical guidance and digital scaling support will be continuously available to the selected 200 startups.

Who can apply? Know eligibility and conditions

Meta has set out clear guidelines for joining the program:

  • Early-Stage Consumer Brands: Startups applying should be early-stage brands in the consumer goods, lifestyle, beauty, fashion, food or D2C sectors.

  • Early Use of Meta Platforms: Businesses that have started using meta platforms like Facebook and Instagram to increase revenue.

  • Independent Business: Startups must not be currently directly managed by the Meta team, nor must they already be actively working with an agency.

Application and Selection Process

Interested startups can submit their online application through Meta’s official news portal (about.fb.com) or through the official program link. Additionally, eligible companies are also being screened through partner VC networks and startup ecosystem channels associated with this initiative. A joint jury of META and industry experts will review the applications and the final list of 200 selected startups will be released before September 1, 2026.
