According to the latest forecast of the Meteorological Department, there will be heavy clouds in many parts of the state today and there is every possibility of heavy to extremely heavy rains during August 17 to 18. Meteorologists have issued a special alert regarding this and have advised people to avoid unnecessary trips and be cautious, because life can be badly affected due to this torrential rain.
How will be the weather in Jharkhand including Ranchi and Gumla today?
In various districts of Jharkhand, dark clouds have gathered in the sky since this morning and drizzle along with cold winds has started. The weather has been very pleasant in the capital Ranchi and its surrounding rural areas for the last few hours, but according to the latest update of the Meteorological Department, this pleasant weather may soon turn into heavy rain. There is a strong possibility of heavy rain with thunder and lightning in many districts including Ranchi, Gumla, Lohardaga, Khunti and Simdega today. Scientists of Meteorological Center Ranchi said that a strong cyclonic circulation and trough line is passing over the state, due to which the density of clouds has increased significantly and this process of rain will become more intense during the coming 24 hours.
IMD’s high alert of heavy rain for 17 and 18 August
According to the latest bulletin issued by the Meteorological Department (IMD), the coming day of 17 and 18 August is going to be very challenging for the residents of Jharkhand. The department has issued orange and yellow alerts of heavy to very heavy rainfall in many districts of the state for these two days. The districts where the maximum impact of this torrential rain can be seen mainly include Ranchi, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Ramgarh, Koderma, Giridih and Chatra. The Meteorological Department says that in these areas, heavy rainfall ranging from 70 mm to 110 mm can be recorded in a single day, due to which the water level of rivers and drains can suddenly rise rapidly and there can be a serious risk of water logging in low-lying residential areas.
Impact of continuous rain on agriculture and farmers
Jharkhand is a state where the agricultural system largely depends on monsoon rains. Due to lack of rain for the last few weeks, paddy transplantation work had slowed down in many parts of the state, due to which farmers seemed very worried.
