News of relief amid the sultry heat in Delhi: IMD gives alert of light to moderate rain, know the weather for the next 3 days

The weather in the capital Delhi on Sunday (July 26) was hotter and more humid than normal, due to which the people of Delhi had to face a lot of problems. However, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has given relief news for today (Monday, July 27). According to the Meteorological Department, today Delhi-NCR will remain cloudy throughout the day and intermittent light to moderate rain has been predicted in many areas.

Temperature reached 36.6°C on Sunday, left sweating due to humidity

According to the IMD report, the maximum temperature of Delhi was recorded at 36.6 degrees Celsius on Sunday, which was 1.7 degrees above normal. The minimum temperature was 27.6 degrees Celsius. The moisture level (relative humidity) in the evening was recorded at 63 percent, making it feel much stickier than the actual temperature. However, despite the humidity, Delhi’s air remained clean and according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded in the ‘satisfactory’ category with 83.

How will the weather be on Monday?

The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain in different parts of the capital between morning and afternoon on Monday, while there is a possibility of light drizzle during the night.

• temperature: The maximum day temperature can be between 34 to 36 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature can be between 25 to 27 degrees Celsius.

• Wind Speed: In the morning, winds will blow from south-west direction at a speed of 10 to 15 km/hour, which may increase to 15 to 20 km/hour by afternoon and evening.

Rain will continue for the next 3 days

Delhiites are expected to get more relief from heat and humidity from Tuesday. According to IMD:

• Tuesday and Wednesday: Weather activities will intensify in the capital and moderate rainfall may be recorded in most areas.

• Temperature of the week: Due to rain, the temperature will drop and the maximum temperature will remain around 32 to 34 degrees Celsius throughout the week.

Cautionary advice for travelers

Even though the rain will bring down the temperature and provide relief from the heat, the IMD has warned of waterlogging in low-lying areas and slow-moving traffic jams on the roads. In such a situation, people going to office or work have been advised to leave with some extra time.
