Country’s first AI data center to be set up in Odisha: HCLTech to make a massive investment of ₹14,257 crore.

Odisha is going to create a new history in the direction of making India a global tech hub. The country’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) optimized data center will now take shape on the soil of Odisha. Indian company HCLTech, a giant in the information technology (IT) sector, has announced to start a huge project in the state. The company is going to make a total mega investment of Rs 14,257 crore to set up this state-of-the-art AI data center and technology hub, which will completely change the digital and economic landscape of the state.

Eastern India’s biggest tech revolution

Due to the industrial promotion policies and single window clearance of the Odisha government, the state is fast becoming the first choice for IT companies. This data center to be built in Bhubaneswar and its surrounding areas will be the most modern digital infrastructure not only in Eastern India but in the entire country. Being AI-optimized, this center will provide superfast speed in processing advanced cloud computing, data processing and artificial intelligence generated tools. This mega project will not only bring entry of global tech companies in Odisha, but will also create thousands of high-tech jobs at the local level.

Why is this AI-optimized data center special?

Compared to traditional data centres, this new center will work entirely on next-gen AI algorithms. This means that it will be able to securely manage and store huge amounts of data with very low power consumption. HCLTech is going to use green energy and sustainable technology in this project, so that the environment is not harmed. Amidst the expansion of 5G network in the country and preparations for the upcoming 6G, the demand for such AI-powered infrastructure has increased very rapidly, to fulfill which this project will prove to be a game changer.

Local economy and tech ecosystem will get a boost

This investment of Rs 14,257 crore is being considered a big boon for the local market and youth of Odisha. According to the Chief Minister’s Office and the state IT department, this project will open up unlimited opportunities for real estate, local vendors and engineering graduates in areas like Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Khordha. Local tech startups will also no longer have to depend on foreign companies for their data hosting, due to which Indian data will remain completely safe within India. This step of HCLTech is going to give a new flight to the Chief Minister’s vision of ‘Strong Odisha’.
