The anger of the youth of the country has now fully erupted on the streets against the alleged rigging and paper leak in the NEET-UG examination. Delhi’s Jantar Mantar has currently become the main center of major student movements and protests. ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP) has been protesting for the last several days demanding transparency in examinations and resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. To further strengthen the movement, the party on Tuesday wrote a letter to the leaders of all the major political parties of the country, appealing to them to come in support of the students.

He has announced that he will personally reach Jantar Mantar at 5 pm on Thursday (16 July 2026) to meet the protesting students and extend his support.
Concern increased due to Sonam Wangchuk’s fast, ‘Chatur’ also made emotional appeal
Another serious aspect of the ongoing movement at Jantar Mantar is the hunger strike of educationist and environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk. Wangchuk has been on fast for the last 17 days, due to which his health is continuously deteriorating and his weight is decreasing rapidly.
-
Open letter from veterans: More than 1800 well-known personalities (artists, writers and academics) of the country have issued an open letter in support of Wangchuk. It bears the signatures of personalities like Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Arundhati Roy and economist Jean Dreze.
-
Political Appeal: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, MP Priya Saroj, TMC MP Mahua Moitra and NCP leader Rohit Pawar have expressed deep concern over Wangchuk’s deteriorating health and urged him to break his fast. Farmer leaders have also appealed for ‘Parliament March’ on the first day of the monsoon session of Parliament starting from July 20.
-
‘Nothing should happen to Phunsukh Wangdu’: Actor Omi Vaidya, who played the character of Chatur in the famous film ‘Three Idiots’, shared a very emotional video on social media. He said that the film’s popular character ‘Phunsukh Wangdu’ is inspired by Sonam Wangchuk in real life and nothing should be done to this heritage of the country.
Ground report: Youth revolution at Jantar Mantar at midnight
Even after the light of day has set and the traffic noise on the roads of Delhi has reduced, the flame of movement inside Jantar Mantar is not extinguished. Even at 10 o’clock in the night, youth aged between 20 to 30 years sitting on sheets on the ground, under a black tarpaulin, are seen full of enthusiasm.
The atmosphere here is not like any violent demonstration, but like a deep stagnation and intellectual revolution. In one corner, revolutionary songs are being sung to the tune of guitar, while in the other corner, a circle of youth is busy in serious discussions on the country’s education policy, unemployment and the Constitution. People are coming silently to see Sonam Wangchuk who is on hunger strike on the stage. There is only one echo on the hand-written posters – “We need transparency in examinations and the government should give us our rights.” The number may not be very large, but the stay of these youth proves that they are not going to leave without getting answers to their questions.
