The controversy began when Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, his son and potential successor, Mojtaba Khamenei, issued his first public message following the funeral of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in joint US and Israeli strikes on February 28. Mojtaba, who himself was seriously injured in the deadly attack and has appeared in public after a long time, said in clear words that avenging his father’s death is the collective resolve of the entire Iranian nation. Apart from these, the most powerful faces of the western world like US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Minister Pete Hegseth, French President Emmanuel Macron, Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz have been included in this list.
Growing anger towards western countries: Resentment over giving airspace and remaining silent
