The fire of unrest in PoK reaches London: Kashmiris take to British streets, launching a protest against the Pakistani army and government.

The fire of rebellion for flour, electricity and basic rights in Pakistan’s illegally occupied Kashmir (PoK) has now crossed the seven seas and reached the British capital London. A large number of people from the Kashmiri community have come out on the streets of London to protest against the atrocities and human rights violations by the Pakistani Army in PoK. The protesters raised slogans against the Pakistani army outside the Pakistani embassy and in key areas of central London and appealed to the international community to intervene in this serious crisis.

Huge outrage outside Pakistani Embassy in London, demand for army to withdraw

PoK residents and human rights activists originally living in Britain led the protest. The protesters held banners and placards demanding an end to the use of force by the Pakistani Army on innocent civilians. Slogans like “Pakistani army vacate PoK” and “Give justice to Kashmiris” kept echoing during the protest. The protesters allege that the Islamabad government is looting the natural resources of PoK and the local people there are not getting even basic facilities.

Why is the fire of rebellion raging in PoK?

In fact, the general public has been on the streets in PoK for a long time due to inflation, huge electricity bills, flour shortage and unemployment. When local people started peaceful protests, Pakistani Rangers and police brutally lathicharged them and fired tear gas shells, resulting in loss of lives of many civilians. Now Kashmiris living all over the world are uniting against this oppressive policy and are exposing the double standards of the Pakistani government on the global stage.

Big preparations to corner Pakistan on the global stage

Political analysts are considering this big demonstration in London as a big diplomatic blow for Pakistan. The protesters have also submitted a memorandum to the British government and the United Nations (UN), demanding an independent investigation into the human rights violations taking place in PoK. Kashmiris say that they will not keep quiet and will continue to raise their voice at the international level against this cycle of oppression by Pakistan so that their brothers and sisters living there can get freedom from the fear of the Pakistani Army.
