There is panic among those going to Oman and Kuwait… Air India Express has restored all the flights to West Asia.

Air India Express Flight Resumed: There is great news for the travelers planning to travel to West Asia. Air India Express has announced the resumption of all its international flights which were closed due to security reasons. According to official information released by the airline, services have now become normal for all West Asia destinations including Salalah in Oman and Kuwait. This decision has brought great relief to Indian expatriates working in Gulf countries, especially travelers from Kerala and Karnataka.

Complete flight resumption schedule and route details

According to the official press release of Air India Express, flights on the Kozhikode-Salalah route have started from July 2. At the same time, Kozhikode-Kuwait services are being restored from July 3. Apart from this, Bengaluru-Kuwait flights will be started from July 4. The airline has clarified that the number of flights has been limited in the initial phase, which will be increased in a phased manner considering the demand of passengers. The Kozhikode-Salalah service will operate twice a week, while the Kozhikode-Kuwait service will operate thrice a week from July 5. Similarly, Bengaluru-Kuwait flights will be available thrice a week from July 7. Also, Muscat-Mangaluru flights have also been restarted from July 3.

Connectivity becomes easier for Kuwait and Oman

Air India Express now operates regular operations from both Muscat and Salalah international airports in Oman. The airline is currently operating around 40 flights a week from Muscat to seven cities in India. It is important for travelers to know that all flights to and from Kuwait will now operate from Terminal 4 of Kuwait International Airport. Additionally, Air India Express is going to start direct flights between Navi Mumbai International Airport and Abu Dhabi from July 15, 2026, which will be the first airline to operate international flights from this new airport.

Why were flights to West Asia stopped?

It is noteworthy that tension in West Asia had increased after the attacks on Iran by America and Israel in late February 2026. During this time, the regional security situation had become extremely sensitive due to drone and missile attacks, due to which many major airlines of the world, including Air India Express, had temporarily stopped their services, giving priority to passenger safety. Now after the situation has become normal, the airlines have resumed their services, due to which thousands of passengers will again get the facility of easy travel.
