TVK Chief Coordinator K. A. Sengottaiyan, while welcoming these leaders into the party, launched a scathing attack on the AIADMK leadership. He said that AIADMK is now working like a ‘corporate company’ rather than a political organisation. Sengottaiyan, party general secretary Edappadi K. Describing Palaniswami as a symbol of ‘betrayal’, he said that the current leadership has betrayed its own workers. Describing CM Vijay as ‘permanent Chief Minister’, he said that these leaders who left the party have chosen the right direction and right leadership only after being disappointed.
DMK made a ‘washing machine’ jibe

Kanimozhi wrote, “Heard that the washing machine used by BJP in North India has now reached Tamil Nadu as well. Can this machine also clean stains like Gutkha scam?” At the same time, DMK’s IT cell has arrested former minister M.R.
