Tata Sierra EV India launch date June 30: Tata Sierra EV will get Harrier’s 65kWh battery pack, range will be more than 538KM!

Mumbai/Auto Desk: These days, electric vehicles are all the rage in the Indian automobile market. Meanwhile, the country’s leading car manufacturer Tata Motors is ready to introduce its another iconic brand ‘Sierra’ in a completely new electric avatar. The official global debut of Tata Sierra EV is going to happen on 30 June 2026, where all its features and prices will be revealed. But just before the launch, a very big and important information regarding the powertrain and battery of this premium electric SUV has been leaked. According to auto reports, the entry-level ‘Pure’ (Base) variant of Sierra EV can be given a powerful 65kWh battery pack like Tata Harrier EV, which will give it long range and excellent performance.

Sierra will be equipped with Harrier EV’s battery, will run more than 538 kilometers on a single charge

Tata offers two large battery pack options of 65kWh and 75kWh in its flagship Harrier EV. If leaked reports are to be believed, the base variant of Sierra EV will be launched in the market with a 65kWh capacity battery and rear-wheel drive (RWD) single motor setup. This motor is capable of generating a tremendous maximum power of about 238bhp and torque of 315Nm. The same setup in Harrier EV gives an ARAI certified range of 538 km. Since the Tata Sierra EV will be slightly smaller and lighter than the Harrier in terms of size and weight, experts estimate that despite having the same battery, the Sierra EV may give customers a slightly better real-world range of 538 km.

Tata’s ‘QWD’ all-wheel drive and 75kWh big pack will be available in top variants.

From the latest teaser video released by Tata Motors, it is completely clear that Sierra EV will have the option of all-wheel drive (AWD) for off-roading and excellent grip. The company is calling it ‘QWD’ (Quad Wheel Drive – QWD) technology. This advanced feature will be provided only in its top-end models (High Variants). These top variants will get a larger battery pack of 75kWh and dual motor (motor on both front and rear axle) setup. This dual-motor architecture in the Harrier EV produces an unmatched power of around 313bhp and a massive torque of 540Nm, which is claimed to give a driving range of around 622 km on a single charge.

Futuristic features and level-2 ADAS safety will be available with retro look.

In terms of design, Tata Sierra EV will be reminiscent of its old cult and classic look (ICE model), but being an electric vehicle, many modern changes have been made in it. Its front will see a body-coloured closed panel (closed grille), connected LED DRL strip, new muscular front bumper, premium gloss finishing and large 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels in place of the traditional grille.

As soon as you step inside the cabin, this car will feel like a luxury lounge. A triple screen setup (which may include a digital instrument cluster, main touchscreen and passenger display) will be provided on its premium dashboard. Apart from this, panoramic sunroof, ventilated and powered seats, head-up display (HUD), premium audio system with Dolby Atmos support and multiple driving modes will be available. Keeping safety paramount, Tata is providing high-tech safety features like 7 airbags, 360-degree camera and Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). After coming into the market, it will compete directly with vehicles like Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric and Maruti Suzuki Vitara.
