‘Killer’ rules in the sky! America is making missiles with 1850 km range, even the radars of China and Russia will not be able to see the end of the enemy.

Amid ongoing tensions and increasing military conflicts around the world, the US Air Force has intensified work on a ‘game-changer’ missile project to establish its supremacy in future air combat. Under the ‘Air Force Long Range Weapon’ (AFLRW) program, America is developing such a destructive missile that will reduce enemy bases located 1,850 kilometers away to ashes in the blink of an eye. The firepower of this missile is many times more than any existing ‘air-to-air’ missile, making it an unbeatable weapon in the military field.

The biggest challenge for China Experts believe that America needs this long-range weapon mainly in view of China’s increasing aggression in the Pacific region. While China is trying to challenge the US military with missiles like its PL-17, the 1,850 km range AFLRW missile will give the US a decisive edge over China on the battlefield. The seriousness of this project can be gauged from the fact that the US Air Force is going to hold a secret brainstorming session on it with defense industry veterans at Eglin Air Force Base on 25-26 August 2026.

How will this ‘smart’ missile work? The biggest question is that despite the roundness of the Earth and the radar range (550 km), how will this missile hit the target 1,850 km away? The answer lies in ‘Network-Centric Warfare’ or ‘Kill Web’ technology. In modern warfare, radar of just one aircraft is not enough. This missile will reach its target using data received from satellites in space, ground-based radar stations and other reconnaissance aircraft (AEW&C). That is, without the enemy getting any clue, he can be targeted from hundreds of kilometers away.

Strength of AFLRW against world’s top missiles At present no country is even close to this proposed project of America. Missiles like Russia’s R-37M (about 300 km) or China’s PL-17 (about 400 km) pale in comparison to the AFLRW’s 1,850+ km range. India’s Astra family and Europe’s Meteor missiles are also far behind this new American technology. If this American experiment is successful, it will be the beginning of a new era in ‘Beyond Visual Range’ (BVR) combat, where the pilot of the enemy aircraft will not even know who attacked and from where.
