UP Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026: Preparation for recruitment to more than 1600 professor posts in UP colleges, Higher Education Department sent vacancy report to the Commission.

A very wonderful and big good news is coming for the youth who are dreaming of becoming professors in non-government and government-aided degree colleges of Uttar Pradesh. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Higher Education Department of the state has started the exercise on war footing to fill the vacant posts in various colleges.

On the instructions of the government, the Directorate of Higher Education had sought detailed and point-wise information about vacant posts from colleges across the state. After this diplomatic step, now the final verification of the vacancy reports received from various colleges is being done and it is being sent to Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission, which makes it clear that the official notification of recruitment can be issued soon.

Vacancy may come on more than 1600 posts, final figure may increase

According to officials of the Directorate of Higher Education, based on the reports received so far, more than 1600 posts of Assistant Professor have been found vacant in aided colleges.

• Expectation of increase in posts: The Directorate has given strict instructions to all the concerned colleges to provide accurate information about the vacant posts.

• Waiting for new report: Many institutes have recently sent information about new vacancies to the directorate. Officials believe that since the final verification report is yet to come from some colleges, the final figure of vacant posts may increase even more by the time the main advertisement is released.

There will be direct recruitment on the posts of ‘Principal’ in colleges also.

Under this upcoming teacher recruitment process, youth will get a golden opportunity to become not only Assistant Professor but also Principal in degree colleges.

• List of 111 posts ready: At present, the Higher Education Department has prepared the complete details of 111 vacant posts of Principal and sent it to the New Education Service Selection Commission.

• Verification ongoing: Internal reports are yet to come from many colleges in this wing, after which it is considered certain that the number of principal posts will also increase.

Thousands of new posts of teachers will be created in Chief Minister Model Composite Schools

To make the basic and secondary education system in Uttar Pradesh world class, the government is rapidly constructing ‘Chief Minister Model Composite Schools’.

• Education from Pre-Nursery to Class 12: These state-of-the-art schools will offer education from Pre-Nursery to Class 12.

• Creation of new posts: To conduct studies smoothly in these new model schools, the government has sought a detailed action plan report from top officials of the education department. On the basis of this report, preparations are underway to create thousands of new posts of Principal, Lecturer (PGT), Assistant Teacher (TGT) and pre-primary teachers in schools.

Bumper doors of employment will open for educated unemployed youth

With this joint activity of Higher Education Department and Secondary Education Department, thousands of eligible candidates who have passed NET, SLET and PhD of Uttar Pradesh will get an opportunity to showcase their talent. With the completion of this mega-recruitment process, on one hand the youth of the state will get secure and respectable government jobs, on the other hand the long-standing shortage of faculty in higher educational institutions of Uttar Pradesh will also be removed forever.
