Which day will be the most auspicious for Karva Chauth shopping? Know whether Venus setting will affect wedding attire

Preparations for Karva Chauth, the biggest festival of faith for married women, have started in full swing in the markets. This Nirjala fast is observed on the Chaturthi date of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month to wish for the long life of the husband, unbroken good fortune and love in married life. Before this holy festival, women make huge purchases of new clothes, sixteen adornments, karwa, puja thali and gold and silver jewellery. But this time there is a big astrological doubt in the minds of women and families that whether the combustion of the planet Venus currently going on in the sky will have an impact on the fasting or shopping of Karva Chauth? In Vedic astrology, Venus is considered to be the natural planet responsible for beauty, material happiness, marital harmony and love. In such a situation, astrologers have completely clarified the situation regarding which day and how it would be best to do Karva Chauth shopping when Venus is setting.

It is a universally accepted rule of astrology that when the Sun and Venus come face to face at a certain angular distance, the brightness of Venus gets hidden under the influence of the Sun, which is called ‘Venus setting’ or ‘star setting’. Whenever Venus or Devguru Jupiter sets, then in Sanatan Dharma, ‘Kamya Sanskar’ i.e. new auspicious activities performed for the first time in life like marriage, Dwiragamaan (Gauna), laying the foundation of a new house, house warming and mundan are considered prohibited.

But when it comes to daily and routine fasts like Karva Chauth, Teej or Jitiya, the rule of the scriptures is very clear. According to Dharmasindhu and Niranayasindhu, the fasts which come every year on a fixed date in their regular order, are not blamed for the setting of Venus or Jupiter. Karva Chauth is a fast that married women observe every year for the well-being of their husbands and for the fulfillment of marital dharma. Therefore, the setting of Venus does not have any negative impact on the Karva Chauth fast, its worship and the purchase of necessary suhaag materials related to the fast. You can do puja and shopping with full devotion without any hesitation or fear.

Some special days are considered astrologically to be the most auspicious and fruitful for purchasing new clothes, makeup material and puja items for Karva Chauth:
