Noida International Airport New Expressway: Traveling from Delhi border to Noida International Airport will be easy; NHAI will build 35 km long 8-lane elevated expressway

For the residents of Delhi-NCR and people traveling towards Noida-Greater Noida daily, a big and relief news has come out on the infrastructure front. The journey from Delhi border to Noida International Airport being built in Jewar is now going to be faster, safer and completely jam-free than ever before. This very ambitious highway project has been given the green signal in a high level meeting held recently. With the construction of this new route, connectivity between Delhi and Jewar Airport will become very easy.

Why is this new expressway project special? (Route & Length)

This proposed expressway will not be just an ordinary road, but a model of modern engineering. Following are the main features of this project:

  • Length and Lane: This entire route is approximately 35.1 kilometers long which will be completely 8-lane elevated expressway (built on pillars above the ground).

  • Route Map: This wonderful route of Delhi DND Flyway It will start from and will run parallel to the embankment (dam) of Yamuna river till Gharbra in Greater Noida.

  • Direct Connectivity: After reaching Gharbra, this expressway will be directly connected to Yamuna Expressway, due to which vehicles traveling from Delhi will be able to enter Noida International Airport directly without any traffic light or jam.

NHAI got the responsibility; Local people were also taken care of

The responsibility of construction and timely completion of this mega-project National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) Has been assigned to. Special care has been taken in the design of the expressway to benefit long distance travelers as well as local people. This structure will not only have 8 main lanes, but also 2 extra lanes It will be connected to existing local roads so that people living in nearby villages and sectors can easily get on and off it.

Why was the old plan changed after the objection of the Irrigation Department?

To get this project off the ground, the administration had to make a major technical change in its initial plans:

  • Old Scheme: Initially, the engineers’ plan was to build the road just above the flood control embankment (dam) of the Yamuna River.

  • Objection and new solution: Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department had clearly refused to give NOC on this old plan considering the strength, safety and flood risks of the dam. After this serious objection of the department, the plan was changed. Now, without touching the dam, a completely elevated expressway will be built by erecting pillars right next to it, which will not violate the environmental and river safety standards.

Delhi’s DND flyway will become diplomatic junction

After the commissioning of this expressway, Delhi’s DND Flyway will be transformed into the country’s largest and major highway hub (Junctions). Delhi-Meerut Expressway and Delhi-Saharanpur Expressway already pass through Akshardham. Now the link lines of these two big highways will be connected through Mayur Vihar. Chilla Elevated Road Will be connected to. Due to this connectivity, passengers coming from Meerut, Saharanpur or East Delhi will get a signal-free and superfast route directly to Jewar Airport.

There will be huge saving of time, permanent relief from traffic jams

After the full opening of Noida International Airport in the coming time, there is sure to be a record increase in the number of vehicles and passengers on this route. In such a situation, this new 8-lane elevated expressway will not only halve the travel time between Delhi and the airport, but will also provide relief from the terrible traffic jams at Kalindi Kunj, Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and Mahamaya Flyover.
