According to the latest forecast of the Meteorological Department, today on June 21, there is a strong possibility of torrential rains along with thunderstorms in 23 states of the country including the country’s capital Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. During this period, destructive winds can blow at a storm speed of 80 to 90 kilometers per hour in some areas, for which the administration has been instructed to be fully prepared.

The list of 23 states for which the Meteorological Department has issued orange and yellow alerts of heavy rain and storm include Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand. Apart from this, monsoon will also be active in West Bengal, Odisha, Sikkim, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andaman Nicobar Islands, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The Meteorological Department has especially appealed to the people living in rural areas to be cautious of lightning strikes and not to take shelter in open fields or under trees.

These districts include Pandhurna, Maihar, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Panna, Balaghat, Mandla, Seoni, Chhindwara, Jabalpur, Katni, Dindori, Betul, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Barwani, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Dhar, Indore, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Bhind, Sheopur Kalan, Singrauli, Sidhi, Rewa, Mauganj, Satna, Anuppur, Umaria and Shahdol are included. Heavy rains along with strong winds have started in all these areas, due to which a huge drop in temperature has been recorded.
