
Shri Maurya said that the priority of the government is to provide employment, self-employment and economic opportunities to rural women. Lakhs of women are today moving towards self-reliance through self-help groups. The e-Saras portal will play an important role in strengthening the rural economy along with giving national recognition to their products.
He directed the officials to register more and more self-help groups on the e-Saras portal and display their products in an attractive manner. Besides, the system of quality, packaging, branding and online marketing of the products should be strengthened, so that easy access of the products to the customers can be ensured.
Shri Maurya said that e-Saras portal is not just a medium for online sales, but it is an effective platform to provide nationwide market to rural women. Through this, sales of the groups’ products will increase, women’s income will increase and they will be helped in becoming financially self-reliant. He said that the use of digital platforms will expand the demand and marketing area of products and the economic activities of groups will get new momentum.
The Deputy Chief Minister directed the departmental officers that the marketing of products manufactured by self-help groups should not be limited only to Uttar Pradesh, but should also be extended to other states of the country through the e-Saras portal. He said that in view of the demand for these products in different states, the possibilities of export and interstate marketing should be utilized to the maximum. With this, the self-help groups of the state will get new markets and their income will increase continuously.
