Three Indian crew members, including 23-year-old Indian sailor (deck cadet) Aditya Sharma, aboard Palau flagged commercial oil tanker ship ‘MT Settebello’ have been killed in a massive missile attack by the US military on charges of violating the US blockade. This attack was so horrific that initially their deaths could be officially confirmed only after the bodies of these missing Indian sailors were recovered. The most shocking thing is that just an hour before his death, Aditya had sent a message to his family on WhatsApp that everything was fine. America targeted three ships in the Gulf of Oman this week, accused of carrying oil from Iran.

The US military has argued behind this bloody military action that this commercial ship was trying to carry crude oil from Iran in the restricted area, which was a direct violation of the US economic and military blockade. However, the biggest price of this blockade is being paid by innocent Indian citizens with their lives. The situation in the Gulf of Oman has become so critical that within this week alone the US military has carried out deadly attacks on three large commercial ships, and most of the sailors and crew members working on all these ships were Indian citizens.

Royal Navy takes charge, rescue of Indian sailors continues from MT Jalveer and MT Marinex.

Amidst this fierce conflict, the Indian Foreign Ministry and the Indian Embassy in Oman are constantly on high alert. Earlier, soon after the US attack on another Palau-flagged tanker ‘MT Marivex’ on June 8, Oman’s security officials, in a display of promptness, safely airlifted 24 Indian sailors. After this, on Thursday, another commercial ship ‘MT Jalveer’ also came under American attack. The Indian Embassy in Muscat has officially confirmed that with the help of the Royal Navy of Oman, a rescue operation is being conducted on a war footing to safely evacuate all the Indian citizens stranded on MT Jalveer to Shinas Port. India’s Union Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has also expressed deep grief over the incident and expressed his condolences to the families of the three deceased Indian sailors.

Missiles rained down just one hour after writing ‘I am fine Papa’, the only lamp in the house got extinguished

In this entire tragedy, the story of 23 year old Aditya Sharma, resident of Uttar Pradesh, will tear anyone’s heart. Aditya, who joined the Merchant Navy as a deck cadet on probation with a dream of a bright future, was the only son of his parents. Aditya’s father told in a very emotional and tearful telephonic interview, ‘We were constantly nervous for the last 3-4 days because there were continuous attacks in Oman. Last Sunday, when I called my son, he said that Papa, the ship on which the attack took place is far away from us and we are completely safe. After this, on Monday he sent me a message on WhatsApp saying that he was absolutely fine. But little did we know that just one hour after that message, American missiles would rain down on my son’s ship.

Firing missile at unarmed commercial ship is a war crime, Indian government takes strict steps against America

There were a total of 24 Indian crew members on board, out of which 21 have been rescued safely, but the lights of three families including Aditya have been extinguished forever. The father’s anger over the loss of his son has now erupted against the superpower America. Appealing to the Indian government, he said, ‘I fold hands and ask the Prime Minister and the government to take a very strong stand on the international stage against this cruel step of America. Attacking an unarmed and commercial cargo ship with deadly missiles like this is a direct ‘war crime’. If you have to stop a ship, there are many legal methods like sending the army or arresting the crew, but you have no right to kill innocent sleeping sailors by firing missiles at them.
